Pattern: "A-2" from Better Homes and Gardens Crocheting and Knitting "Granny Square Sampler Afghan."
This square is four 3-round granny squares whip stitched together. It's all bordered by another round with 3 dc in each space. The pattern doesn't specify about what to do about the center where two squares come together, but from the afghan photo in the book, it looks like they worked 3dc into each space. That is WAY too much and would cause this to get wavy in the middle. I normally just do three dc total on this sort of join (one in each space and one in the center through the back of the stitches), but I decided to try out the way I saw on this tutorial the other day. It worked great. Measuring 9", this is the hugest square so far!
