92::365

Pattern: "F-2" from Better Homes and Gardens Crocheting and Knitting "Granny Square Sampler Afghan."

Here is another pattern I had to heavily modify to get what is shown in the photo in the book. It clearly uses a different number of stitches in the last few rounds compared to "F-1," but the directions simply say to use the same pattern in different colors. See what I mean?

F-2 vs. F-1
F-2 & F-1 in the book.

Since I had to change one thing or another on every single row, I'm just going to share my entire modified pattern here:

Begin with a magic ring.

Round 1: Ch 3, 4dc into ring, ch 5, *5dc into ring, ch 5* 3 times, sl st into 3rd stitch of beginning chain.

Round 2: Attach new color in any ch 5 corner. Ch 3, (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) into corner, ch 1, (dc, ch1 dc) into 3rd dc of previous round, ch 1. *(3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) into next corner, ch 1, (dc, ch1 dc) into 3rd dc of previous round), ch 1* 3 times. Sl st into 3rd stitch of beginning chain.

Round 3: Attach new color in any ch 3 corner. Ch 3, (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) into corner, ch 2. Dc into next ch 1 space, ch 1, dc into next space, ch 1, dc into next space, ch 2. *(3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) into next corner, ch 2. Dc into next ch 1 space, ch 1, dc into next space, ch 1, dc into next space, ch 2.* 3 times. Sl st into 3rd stitch of beginning chain.

Round 4: Attach new color in any ch 3 corner. Ch 3, (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) into corner, 3 dc into next ch 2 space, ch 2, dc into middle dc of previous round, ch 2, 3 dc into next space, *(3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) into corner, 3 dc into next ch 2 space, ch 2, dc into middle dc of previous round, ch 2, 3 dc into next space* 3 times. Sl st into 3rd stitch of beginning chain.

Round 5: Attach new color in any ch 3 corner. Ch 3, (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) into corner, 3 dc into each of the next 4 ch spaces, *(3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) into corner, 3 dc into each of the next 4 ch spaces* 3 times. Sl st into 3rd stitch of beginning chain.

Since I typed this up very quickly from my notes, I'd love to know if you come across any errors if you try it out! :)
