Pattern: "Marigold," block 209 from 200 Crochet Blocks by Jan Eaton.

Technically, this is block 210, 211, and 212, too. My only complaint about 200 Crochet Blocks is that there are really only 128 different patterns. Once you get past #100, each page is dedicated to a pattern, as usual, but three additional color schemes are shown, and each one is numbered as if it is a totally different design. And I'd give the book extra points if there were stitch diagrams. Now that I have more experience crocheting, it is kind of annoying to have to read through endless descriptions of things that would be easy to see at a glance in a diagram.

So I have caught up! If I can make five blocks in a day (like I did today), one a day for the rest of the year should be totally possible.

Jim didn't mind hanging out with me on the couch all day!

  2. it's really pretty! I wanted to make a square a day this year but that's not going to happen, maybe next year. I look forward to seeing more of your squares!

  3. Kristin, I feel the same way about it! When you see any pastel squares it is just because I'm trying to break out of the routine and/or use up some yarn I wouldn't otherwise. :)

Casey, thank you! I hope I can keep up all year...!
