It is so cold, and slippers are so warm! Honestly, making my own slippers is probably the #1 reason I wanted to learn to crochet in the first place. There's nothing like choosing your own colors and making exactly what you want. Until recently, the only slipper pattern I had used was the Oma House Slippers pattern from Mamachee on etsy. You can sort of see a pair I made here. I've made quite a few, but I always seem to give them away before I take a picture (probably because they work up so quickly that I tend to make them as last minute gifts)! So I've been looking for some new slipper patterns to try, and I really like the two I used for the slippers pictured above.

The first three pairs were made using this tutorial from goodknits. It is really adaptable, and once you make a pair, you will be able to customize the pattern super easily. I'll probably add straps to the two that are currently without, but I'm having trouble deciding on which buttons to use!

The final pair is from this free pattern from Lily. It was a little more complicated than the others, but the only problem you might have is lining up the beginning of the upper part for the left and the right since you start each round at a point that isn't exactly centered. I think I need to make another pair before I get it down perfectly. I love that they look like granny squares!

I'm still on the lookout for more cute slipper patterns to try, so let me know if there are any you love! Oh hey, do you see that rug? I'm making another one from tshirt yarn. I'm going to keep adding to this one until I am absolutely sick of it because we really could use a large rug on these cold hardwood floors. Or maybe I'll quit now while one tshirt still barely generates one stripe. I may move on to smaller squares that can be sewn together in a larger tiled rug.

More details about this and other crochet projects I'm working on can be found on Ravelry.

It's summer here so will have to remeber to get started before it gets cold.
WHat's the tshirt yarn like to work with? Do you need a massive hook?
