Pattern: "Kata" by Penny Davidson (Ravelry link)
I totally love this square! The flower in the center is made up of different clusters that are super easy to crochet. Instead of the last round of single crochet, I worked a "granny" round of double crochet. Even with the bigger stitches and the larger hook I used than the pattern called for, my square still only measures 11" instead of the 12" it is suppose to be. I'm waiting until I have a few more of these giant squares to decide exactly how big to make all of them!
This is square #2 for A Square A Day In May! Tomorrow I am going to try my best to post my square earlier in the day. I haven't been feeling well and took a much needed nap today! :) Be sure to check out Melissa's blog to see photos of all of our squares.
I like it too and I see what I would call a fireflower in the center. The petals look like flames.Great job.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you used! So bright and cheery! I also added a wider row to finish this one...maybe I just crochet a little tighter?
