112::365 granny flower square (with pattern)!

112::365

Pattern: made up by me.

I was going to make square #39 from 99 Granny Squares today, but since it turns out to just be a plain old granny square (like this one), I experimented and made this one above instead. I'm calling it Granny Flower. Here's how to make it!

Pattern:

* = items within asterisks are to be repeated the number of times stated. Finish off after each round and start the next with a different color.

Begin with a magic ring.

Round 1: Ch 3, 2 dc into ring, ch 1 *(3 dc, ch 1) into ring* 3 times, sl st into 3rd stitch of beginning chain & finish off. (I edited this to change ch 3 to ch 1!)

Round 2: Attach a second color to any ch 3 space; Ch 3, 5 dc, ch 3 *(6 dc, ch 3) in next ch 3 space* 3 times; sl st into 3rd stitch of beginning chain & finish off.

Round 3: Attach a third color to any ch 3 space; Ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc into space; ch 1, 3 hdc between the 3rd & 4th dc of the next 6 dc of previous round, ch 1; *(3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) into next ch 3 space, ch 1, 3 hdc between the 3rd & 4th dc of the next 6 dc of previous round, ch 1* 3 times; sl st into 3rd stitch of beginning chain & finish off.

Round 4: Attach a fourth color to any ch 3 space; Ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3dc into space; 3 dc in each of the next two ch 1 spaces; *(3 dc, ch 3, 3dc) into the next ch 3 space, 3 dc into each of the next ch 1 spaces* 3 times; sl st into 3rd stitch of beginning chain & finish off.

You could keep adding rounds like Round 4 to get to the size you wish. With my size H hook, the square came out to about 4.5".
